The Young Parents Program (YPP), in collaboration with the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA), helps young parents to pass the GED exam and to achieve long-term economic independence. This program is designed to meet the specific needs of each student. In addition, YPP provides: parenting classes, access to GED software, vocational training and placement, college placement, housing assistance, transportation, daycare access, counseling access, and referrals and access to other resources. |
| ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS | To be eligible for this program an individual must be receiving assistance from DTA in the form of TANF/TAFDC or be under the age of 18 and living at home. The individual must be parenting or pregnant, and be between the ages of 14 and 20. The program is open to both men and women. The program is for individuals who do not have a high school diploma. This program is FREE (plus it's fun and the teachers are great!) and we always have openings. If you are a young parent who wants to get their GED, please call us.
