SMOC FUEL ASSISTANCE

 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION/SERVICES 

 FUEL ASSISTANCE (LIHEAP): Eligible households in 37 communities receive assistance paid directly to their heating vendor. The program is designed to help low-income people afford the cost of heat in the winter months. Eligibility is based on gross annual income and familiy size.

 
  
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS 

Eligibility is based on income guidelines set by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

58 additional intake site are located within the 37 community service area.  Information on these sites is avalibale by calling our automated phone system at   (508)-620-1230. Simply follow the instructional phone message and enter your zip code when prompted.

 

 
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES 
Volunteer opportunities are available by contacting your local Senior Center or area Council on Aging and ask to become a Fuel Assistance intake volunteer.
