PROGRAM DESCRIPTION/SERVICES | Voices provides free and confidential services to victims of domestic/partner violence and sexual assault/rape in the Metrowest area. Services are provided in English, Spanish, and Portuguese and are available to everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Services include a 24-hour hotline, crisis intervention, supportive counseling and support groups, information and referrals, and medical, legal and criminal justice advocacy. Voices also conducts outreach and education to community groups and professionals on the impact of violence, including developing individualized training curricula. Formerly Women’s Protective Services, Voices’ mission is to end domestic violence and sexual assault/rape. Voices strives to achieve its mission through the provision of direct client services and a multifaceted public awareness campaign. Voices staff members work to empower battered individuals and sexual assault survivors to help themselves and their children. Staff works closely with battered individuals and sexual assault/rape survivors to ensure their safety, create stable home environments, gain independence, and to develop personal and economic self-sufficiency. Opportunities are available to persons pursuing their associates or undergraduate degree. We are unable to provide clinical support to Master's candidates (if interested, they must find external clinical supervision). During the holiday season, Voices coordinates the "Holiday Cheer" project, collecting and distributing donated holiday gifts for 200 families each year. If you or your organization would like to participate, please call our hotline during business hours and ask to speak with the shelter manager. Checks for monetary donations can be made out to Voices Against Violence and mailed to Voices Against Violence 300 Howard Street, Framingham, MA 01702. | | | ANNUAL STATISTICS | Annually Voices staff and volunteers answer 3500 hotline calls, shelters 200 families, and provides comprehensive services to 1200 survivors. |
